Morris the Mouse Part 2

For those of you who are interested in hearing more about Morris the Mouse...keep reading.  OK, let's go back to last Sunday.  After bringing the little guy home, we were only able to give him a couple drops of water.  The next morning, my Dad tried to feed him again and noticed that he wasn't moving a whole lot and he was very cold.  At the time, My Mom and Dad had little hope of him living.  So anyway after that, my Mom put him on a heating pad and started to feed him goat's milk every 2 hours while I was away at school.  By the time I got home, my Mom said he was eating well and even tried to open his eyes.  On Wednesday, his eyes were fully open.  Thursday, he was bouncing off the walls of the container and even tried to escape out of one of the holes.  Friday, My Mom moved him to a taller container...and gave up on trying to feed him because he was too crazy.

And here he is now, eating big boy food and drinking water out of a bottle cap.  OK, he has a weird looking tail and grandpa feet, but he's still super cute!!

It's Sunday and time to return the little guy back to his home.

Bye, Bye and good luck!!

We made Morris this cool fort and packed it full of food and dryer lint.

After getting Morris settled in his fort, we played around on the trails for a couple hours.

 THE END.

Squirt Lube Test and More

I know...I'm certainly not a Pro-Rider.  But, I have watched my Dad tinker around on the family bikes since I was about 2 years old.  And throughout the years I believe I have acquired a good amount of knowledge when it comes to my bike. I can definitely tell which parts and products work the best for me.  After applying Squirt Lube to my clean chain, we decided to put it to the test and head to Morris Bridge.  I could tell a difference right away.  My chain was super quiet, almost like it was brand new.  My gears shifted very smoothly and the chain didn't collect a lot of sand or dirt. Pretty awesome for Morris Bridge, it's very sandy there.  I can honestly say, out of all the different lubes my Dad has used on my bike, this one is by far my favorite!!
.
By the way, we had an awesome ride today.  Even though Kiki was sick, we still did the 16 mile loop.
About 9 miles into the ride, this little guy ran out in front of my Dad's bike. He thought it was a baby squirrel, my Mom said it was a rat.  Dr.Doolittle Dad could not leave him, so he scooped him up and he finished the ride with us.  We all agreed that if we left him in the woods... he would probably die because his eyes weren't open yet.

After we got home, we did a little research.  We think he's a field mouse.  My Dad has been feeding him and we will let him go as soon as his eyes open.  Hopefully, he makes it.  We named him Morris.

Just an update: I got 1st place on my science project. I guess, the next step is going to the Pasco Young Scientists Fair on May 7th. At the fair, I will compete with other school winners in the district. Pretty Cool!!

I don't know about you, but I think my blog has been a bit on the boring side lately!! As soon as my Dad gets his bike put together, we can hit the trails. And I know my Mom has lots of fun stuff planned for March... so hopefully it won't be too long before I have some interesting stories to share. Hang in there and keep reading!!

New Year...New Sponsors

The first new one is ...let me give your a hint. Who has the most awesome cycling clothes, ever??? That's right, TWIN SIX!! After talking to Mark (my new favorite person), he has agreed to put me on Team TWIN SIX. Yes, I get to wear that crazy Metal Jersey... hopefully it arrives before the Alafia 6 hour. I remember wearing my first T6 shirt (Santa on a Bike) when I was in the 2nd grade...And now, the shirts finally fit me and I wear them every day. www.twinsix.com/

The second sponsor is Squirt Lube. This is what I know so far about Squirt. It's a new wax chain lubricant and lots of Pros swear by it. Check them out for yourself. Sammy from Feedback Sports will be sending me a case so I can give it a try. Kind of like another science project. I know what you are thinking, what am I going to do with a whole case, right?? I was wondering the same thing myself. I will bring some to the Alafia race, so if you are interested in giving it a try just let me know. www.squirtlube.com/

I think it's going to be a great racing year...And I'm very excited about my 2 new sponsors.
