6 hours of El Lagarto

Wow...I surprised myself!! I went into this thinking I would do 2 maybe 3 laps, I ended up doing 5 laps and had enough time to do a 6th one. I had a great first lap, the second lap was a different story. I crashed on the cinder block climb on PuffNStuff and finished the lap crying. I was ready to quit, but after taking a 5 minute breather and eating a little, I was ready to head back out. On the third lap, my Dad and I decided to slow down our pace. After finishing the third lap, my Mom told me that I was in third place...I was shocked!! While taking a break I saw the fourth place boy pass by, so I hopped on my bike and decided to do another one. After the fourth lap, I was DYING!!! My legs, back, butt, everything hurt!! The kids races are only about 2 to 3 miles long, I DID NOT TRAIN FOR THIS!! So, I was really ready to quit this time. I completed more laps than my original goal and was happy. Ten minutes passed by and I just had to go back out there. In the end... 32 miles and 5 laps later, I made it to the podium for the #3 spot.

I wanted to say thank you to all the racers who kept me motivated. It really helped me on the last couple laps. I liked Jeff too, he was super nice!

It's Been A Long Time

I've had a hard time keeping up with my blog lately. So, I thought I would tell you what I've been up to in the last month. I got some riding in at Lakeland and Alafia. (I like the new easy loop at Alafia, it's perfect for my family) Christmas was awesome!!! I got a netbook, ipod, roller blades, and check out the picture of my favorite gift. I never in a million, gazillion years expected to receive this. Pua sent me her old Ellsworth frame, it even has her name on it. Unbelievable!!!

After Christmas, we headed to Alabama. I had fun hanging out with my cousins and visiting with my Great Granny.

Then, we made our way over to the Blue Ridge Mountains in Georgia.

We took a train ride through the mountains and alongside the Toccoa River. It was fun, but way too long.

We were going to do some hiking at Fort Mountain SP, but it was way too cold.

It was a fun vacation. Next time, we are going in the summer time.
