Tip for Thursday

If it's your first time riding a BMX bike...it's probably a good idea to wear shin guards. Those pedals are dangerous!!

But hey...at least I'm catching a little air. So, the bruises and cuts are worth it.

My New Wheels

Check out my new bike.  No, I'm not turning into a BMXer or anything...I just wanted a bike that I could ride during the week, launch ramps in the backyard, and just have fun trying new tricks.  And after yesterday, I think it's going to be good cross-training for me.  No lie...I think I rode my new bike (from J & R bicycles)  for about 6 hours...and today I'm feeling it!!  And of course, I have added a bunch of new bruises to my knees!!  Got to look into getting some pads!!!

Father's Day Ride

The ride started at Philippe Park where we enjoyed some delicious bagels and juice.

After breakfast, we geared up and made our way through downtown Safety Harbor and over to the Ream Wilson trail.

We finished the trail and on the way back, we stopped off at the Safety Harbor Marina.

Then we made our way back to Philippe Park.  And who can go to the park and NOT play on the playground??  Even my Dad couldn't resist. Although...I do think he was breaking the rules.

Happy Father's Day, Dad!!  YOU ROCK!!!

Sunday Ride

Awesome 15 mile ride ride today at Morris Bridge!!  Man...Kiki and I were on fire!!! We left Mom and Dad in the dust and had to wait on them at the trailheads, instead of the other way around!!  Watch out 6-11 year old girls if Kiki decides to race next season!  She's FAST!!!

On the way back, we came across this.  It was a bamboo explosion!!  I've watched tons of survival shows to know all the cool stuff you can make out of bamboo.
So...Shhhhhhhhhh.  Don't tell anyone that we took a small souvineir with us.
Trying to cool off after a steamy 95 degree ride.

My Saturday

I know what you are thinking...I thought Madison was a mountain biker... not a hiker!!  Well, your right, I would much rather be on the bike, but we are kind of stuck having to do stuff around our house. We don't want little Kai to have any,   you know...accidents on the carpet.  And he did chew a small hole in the couch the other day, so we have to be careful how long we leave him home alone.

Anyway, we had an OK time exploring the Brooker Creek Preserve today. A little too hot to be hiking, but at least we got out of the house for a little while.

And then, 7:00 rolled around, I put my bandana on and was ready to watch my all time favorite show...Dual Survival.  That show ROCKS!!

Of course, now that I have all the time in the world to write in my blog because school is out...Uh, Uh... I have nothing to say. OK let me try and think of something.  Oh yeah, I can wheelie really far now.   I know, I know...BORING!!  Anyway, just wanted to let you know that we are taking a short break from riding to spend some time with our newest little buddy Kai.  Hopefully this weekend we can get a ride in at Morris Bridge or something.

Kai

Meet Kai...the newest addition to the McDaniel Family.  Besides having to take 2 different planes to Tampa and falling in our pool yesterday, he's doing awesome!
