Anyway... going into the race, I had a goal of 7 laps. Each year I like to increase my laps by one, so 7 laps about 7 miles long seemed to be a good goal for me. The race went really well (except for my back killing me towards the end) and my goal was met in 5:11:49. I actually had time to do one more lap, but I didn't have a reason to. Now... if doing one more lap meant a podium finish, of course I would have done it. All and all, I'm happy with my results and had an awesome time racing.

2012 6 Hours of El Lagarto
See that Go Pro on top of my Dad's helmet??? Too bad it was pointing down at his handlebars and not at me. Yeah, we were hoping to make a short video of the race, but it's not very exciting watching my Dad's bars for 30 minutes. So, the only thing I have to show from the race is this borrowed picture from Mtb Mike (thanks Mrs Mace).

Did You Miss Me??
I'm back and ready to share some exciting things going on.
My Motto for the new year is, FOCUS.
F is for focus on training. My sister played a monstrous part in me wanting to train and become a better racer/rider. 2X a week, I sit there and watch Kiki in her gymnastics class. She works so hard and has progressed to a pre-team level after only 4 sessions. Definitely got me thinking... How come I'm not putting any effort into the sport I love? And that's when I told my dad I'm ready to commit. Here's Coach Drew Edsall. He's created a training plan just for me. It's nothing crazy and it revolves around my school and homework. I have to be honest with you, sometimes it's a little hard to get on that trainer after 2 1/2 hours of homework. But, after the session is over, I feel awesome and re-energized. And after only 3 interval sessions on the trails, I'm noticing amazing results and couldn't be happier. I had a good ride with Drew today. And Man, he doesn't miss a thing. Got lots to work on!
Open to new experiences.
Commit to racing the entire FSC series. I'm excited to be racing on the LeRoy's / Cycle Youth Junior DEVO team this year.
Understand it will not be easy racing with women who are twice my age and probably 3x stronger.
Strive to do my very best. Whether it's school work or during a race, I will give no less than 100%.
And finally, once again the science project is done. Take a look.
