So far, it's been a fun Spring Break. Friday night we headed over to Cocoa Beach. We got there around midnight, wide awake and ready to do some shopping at Ron Jon's. The next day my sister and I had fun riding the waves on our new body boards, the water was FREEZING!!Sunday, April 4, 2010

Alafia
Saturday morning...We packed a picnic lunch, loaded up our bikes and gear, then headed to Alafia. When we got there, we were a little disappointed! The lady at the gate told us that there was triathlon going on and River Loop was under water. After parking way out in the boonies and carrying the coolers on our bikes, we finally got down to the picnic tables. So much for eating at a table, they were all reserved. Not a big deal, we put our stuff down next a tree and headed over to Sandy Pine. I don't know what got into my sister today, but she was a little rocket!!! We kept a super fast pace throughout the entire trail without stopping. It was awesome! After that, we decided to ride North Creek. We all know the trail is too difficult for my sister on her little bike, but she was in such a great mood , we thought maybe she wouldn't mind if she had to walk her bike up a couple hills. This time, my Mom and I decided to ride together. We took off and then waited for my Dad and Kiki every half mile or so. Even with Kiki having to walk her bike a little and crashing, she was still in a great mood.

After that, we took a little break and ate our sandwiches.

Since most of the trails were a muddy mess, we took another fast ride on Sandy Pine. Here's my Mom and Dad. They said when my sister and I get on bigger bikes, they won't be able to keep up with us any more. One more month and my new bike should be put together. Can't wait!!

Finally...nice weather!!
I'm so happy the weather was finally nice. We headed over to Boyette on Saturday for a day of riding. I really like riding here during this time of year when it's a little cool outside. We had a rough start to the ride, my sister all of a sudden was scared to ride on Loch Ness. I think it was because she hasn't been riding in a long time. Anyway, by the time we got to Golf Cart, she was back to normal. After meeting a bunch of riders from South Florida, I decided to ride some parts of South Abyss then, attempted to ride the the big drop at the end. When I say attempted I mean attempted!!! My Dad held the back of my bike until I was half way down, then let go. BAD IDEA!!!...I lost control of my handle bars and I went flying face first off the side of the trail. My Mom was freaking out and really mad at my Dad. My Mom said that I need to know my limits and if I can't go down the hill by myself, then I'm not allowed to go on it. It makes sense now that I think about it, that downhill was way too steep!!Monday, January 25, 2010
6 hours of El Lagarto
Wow...I surprised myself!! I went into this thinking I would do 2 maybe 3 laps, I ended up doing 5 laps and had enough time to do a 6th one. I had a great first lap, the second lap was a different story. I crashed on the cinder block climb on PuffNStuff and finished the lap crying. I was ready to quit, but after taking a 5 minute breather and eating a little, I was ready to head back out. On the third lap, my Dad and I decided to slow down our pace. After finishing the third lap, my Mom told me that I was in third place...I was shocked!! While taking a break I saw the fourth place boy pass by, so I hopped on my bike and decided to do another one. After the fourth lap, I was DYING!!! My legs, back, butt, everything hurt!! The kids races are only about 2 to 3 miles long, I DID NOT TRAIN FOR THIS!! So, I was really ready to quit this time. I completed more laps than my original goal and was happy. Ten minutes passed by and I just had to go back out there. In the end... 32 miles and 5 laps later, I made it to the podium for the #3 spot.
I wanted to say thank you to all the racers who kept me motivated. It really helped me on the last couple laps. I liked Jeff too, he was super nice!

It's Been A Long Time
I've had a hard time keeping up with my blog lately. So, I thought I would tell you what I've been up to in the last month. I got some riding in at Lakeland and Alafia. (I like the new easy loop at Alafia, it's perfect for my family) Christmas was awesome!!! I got a netbook, ipod, roller blades, and check out the picture of my favorite gift. I never in a million, gazillion years expected to receive this. Pua sent me her old Ellsworth frame, it even has her name on it. Unbelievable!!!
